Arts and Culture grants application process for individual artists and nonprofit organizations begins – Deadline January 18 at 5 p.m.

The application process for the City of Fort Myers’ Arts and Culture grants opened on December 14 and runs until January 18, 2019.

The City of Fort Myers recognizes the importance of the arts to the cultural, educational, and economic well-being of its diverse population. In order to enhance access by all its residents to a full range of cultural experiences, the City of Fort Myers provides funding for arts and cultural programs, through the City of Fort Myers Public Art Committee.

Artists must live or work within corporate limits of the City of Fort Myers or create/perform work that will make a meaningful contribution to the arts and culture of the City of Fort Myers. The maximum funding for each arts and culture grant is $2,500 for individual artists.

For organizations, the grant calls for non-profit organizations that produce and/or present a cultural program or festival within the City of Fort Myers’ corporate limits. There are two types of grants offered for organizations: Operating Grants, with a maximum grant amount of $10,000; and Project and Program Grants, with a maximum grant amount of $5,000. Only one grant per organization or artist will be funded per year.

The deadline to apply in January 18 by 5 p.m. More information and applications may be accessed at http://floridacommunity.com/grants-process/arts-culture-artist-guidelines/
