THANK YOU JUDI.

Judi and her husband Reed were referred to us by their CPA and now they have a donor advised fund for their giving to causes they care about. Judi is our next featured artist at the Southwest Florida Community Foundation’s Art Exhibit in the Community Hub this spring and a portion of proceeds from her sales will support the Fund for the Arts of Southwest Florida.  What a beautiful way to give back!

THANK YOU JACQUE AND DAVID.

One of the newest members of the Foundation family met us bright and early with their first cup of coffee to share their personal and business giving goals. We can’t wait to see where they will direct their giving, but we know they are ready to hit the ground running to make positive change in our community.

These Sanibel Islanders established their Donor Advised Fund at the Southwest Florida Community Foundation to causes and nonprofits they care about.  Also, the employees of their company Midland 301 give through the company’s payroll deduction sent directly to their Corporate Advised Fund at Foundation.  Now that’s good coffee, good business and good philanthropy!

bigheart24THANK YOU ELLEN AND DENNIS.

The future is bright for our region when you have donors like Ellen Sayet, MD, and Dennis Hutchinson here who have Future Fund with the Southwest Florida Community Foundation. When it comes to giving, Ellen and Dennis know how to seize the moment and plan ahead. After they’re gone, they know where their philanthropy and generousity will be directed. It’s easy to do through a fund at the Southwest Florida Community Foundation and they say it is good knowing where it’s going.

THANK YOU SUNSHINE!

Her name suits her to a tee. Sunshine brings warmth and light to her giving and cares deeply for her community with a heart for palliative care. She chose Charitable Gift Annuities to help her change the world. This provides a way for her favorite nonprofits to feel her love after she is gone.

Giving through a Charitable Gift Annuity can provide income for life.  Give now, take a tax deduction, receive income for life and direct the remainder to a cause you care about.  It’s all based on birthdate, amount and payout period.

If you’d like us to run some calculations for you, just let us know. This popular giving tool may be just what you have been looking for!

bigheart24

THANK YOU KELLIE.

She’s an angel, that much we know.  Kellie Burns is an angel of the Women’s Legacy Fund, a fund of the Southwest Florida Community Foundation.  Several of her friends and admirers pitched in to the WLF endowment to surprise her as one of our foundation’s angels because of all she does for nonprofits in our community.

Do you know an angel?  You can honor her  with a gift to the endowed Women’s Legacy Fund.  Her halo and your donation will live on through the annual grants given through the Women’s Legacy Fund each year.  Let us know if you want to know more!

bigheart24THANK YOU KAREN.

She is from the neighborhood, now she’s working to strengthen it. Dunbar’s Karen Watson is one of the founders of the Impact Dunbar Fund, a fund of the Southwest Florida Community Foundation, dedicated to funding ideas that are designed to build, inspire and challenge the women and girls of Dunbar to be their best.

If you want to be part of this movement, please let us know. Karen would love your company in creating change in our community.

THANK YOU JIM AND DEBRA.

Jim and Deb worked together to create a generosity mission statement with our Giving 360 program. Now they know exactly how they want to change the world and our community. Hint: they love family, value friendships, and support creativity and education.

It was our pleasure to work with them on establishing a philanthropic mission statement to guide their giving with our Giving360 program. We can do that for you too!

THANK YOU RICHARD AND CHERRILL.

Richard and Cherrill love Bonita Springs where they’ve lived for decades, so they created a plan to give to an Unrestricted Fund for all things Bonita after they’re gone.  It’s simple to do and a special way to give back to the place called home.

If you want to learn more about how to give a gift through your will, just ask!  It’s easy to simply add a line in your will and then give us a letter of direction for us to keep on file so that we will know exactly what you wish for YOUR community and the causes you care about.  We will be the stewards of your philanthropy and carry out your philanthropy plans.

bigheart24THANK YOU JONATHAN AND BRIAN.

These two super smart entrepreneurs Jon Romine and Brian Smith of Ensite, Inc., a company dedicated to creative sustainable design, have chosen to live, work, play and raise their families here. A cornerstone of their business strategy is giving back to the community in the areas of education and sustainability, so they established a Corporate Advised Fund at the Foundation to do just that.  It’s easy to track contribution receipts and their fund activity with the foundation’s online 24-7 portal for fundholders.  That is smart and effective philanthropy.

THANK YOU GRACE.

Grace, the mother of three girls and an estate planning attorney, knows the importance of long-term support for causes. That’s why she supports endowment so she can give today and support the future of women and girls here in perpetuity.

If you want to be part of collective giving today and caring for the future of things you care about, let’s talk!

bigheart24

THANK YOU BETTEANN.

Betteann Sherman can turn the world on with that smile, but more than that as a loyal and ongoing supporter of The Women’s Legacy Fund, she has helped empower the lives of many women and girls through education,
neighborhood services and mentoring opportunities.

The Women’s Legacy Fund’s spring luncheon for Contributors is April 7th. If you want to be part of Collective Philanthropy, join us for this working meeting as we explore the latest research on women’s and girls’ issues in the region.

THANK YOU HERTZ TEAM!

This company may love the road, but they love people too! Hertz knows the importance of giving back, that’s why they have an Employee Relief Fund to offer a way for employees to give to their colleagues in need whether here or across the country.

This is just one of the things we offer through our Corporate Services. If you have a business and want to engage in philanthropy in a strategic way, give us a call, it’s one of our favorite things to do!

THANK YOU, SMOOT FAMILY.

A family that gives together… as one of the founders of the Southwest Florida Community Foundation, Tom and his wife Ann share their spirit of giving with the entire Smoot clan. The family established a Scholarship Fund in honor of their parents which will help generations of students get to college.

We have nearly 90 scholarship funds both designated and competitive. What a great way to give to the future!  You pick the criteria and we do the rest.

Volunteers are needed to review scholarship applications this March – April. It’s a big job but shared among many so it’s not a big commitment. If you are interested, email or call Melanie Holaway, our scholarship coordinator, at [email protected] or call 239-274-5900.

On these pages you have seen a glimpse of people
with big hearts who give for the love our community.
To everyone who gives. and to the nonprofits and
advocates that dedicate their lives to the love of
humanity, thank you.
