Leone joins Southwest Florida Community Foundation

Leone joins Southwest Florida Community Foundation

The Southwest Florida Community Foundation recently welcomed Katie Leone as Impact and Sustainability Manager.

In her new position, Leone will work on the Social Innovation & Sustainability (SIS) Team where she will support the development, execution, measurement and reporting of sustainability initiatives including sustainability initiatives for the FutureMakers Coalition.

Her work will center on making complex issues understandable and actionable to assist the foundation and regional partners in improving the quality of life in our region.

Prior to joining the Foundation’s staff, Leone was the Sustainability Manager at Florida Gulf Coast University where she worked across institutional units to bridge educational and operational sustainability goals.

Leone was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio and earned her undergraduate degrees in Studio Art and Italian Studies from Miami University. She has spent time living abroad, teaching and traveling. Experiencing how various communities practice sustainability inspired her to earn a master’s from Chatham University’s Falk School of Sustainability. During her graduate program, she completed a Climate Fellowship at the University of New Hampshire Sustainability Institute and attained her Permaculture Design Certificate.
