Relief funds established for victims of Southwest Florida Flood and Hurricane Harvey

Relief funds established for victims of Southwest Florida Flood and Hurricane Harvey

100% of contributions will be disbursed to organizations directly helping those in need.

The Southwest Florida Community Foundation has joined forces to create giving funds to help our local neighbors enduring the effects of flooding and those displaced due to Hurricane Harvey.

Established in partnership with the United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades and Okeechobee Counties, Lee County Emergency Management, and Lee County Human Services, along with the Red Cross and the Salvation Army, the Southwest Florida Community Foundation has opened the Southwest Florida Flood Relief Fund.  The fund is a way for our community to help our neighbors in need in the aftermath of the storms and floods displacing residents across the region, especially south Lee County.

100 percent of the funds donated through the Southwest Florida Community Foundation will be used by the United Way to provide emergency funds to directly help people displaced from their homes and those suffering loss due to the floods.

In addition, the Community Foundation is partnering with the Greater Houston Community Foundation, a lead organization providing immediate emergency funding and supporting recovery service organizations in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, in creating the Hurricane Harvey Fund of the Southwest Florida Community Foundation with all funds raised to be sent to aid those affected in Texas.
