The Southwest Florida Community Foundation recently welcomed two new team members to the organization.
Trisha Botty, an experienced professional in government and community relations, communications, organization, program management and public advocacy, has been named the Community Foundation’s new Grants Manager. She previously served as Regional Director of Intergovernmental Affairs at the New York State Attorney General’s Office where she worked directly with elected officials, community leaders and was the liaison between the attorney general’s office and 18 counties. Botty also has experience working at a prominent labor organization where she effectively planned, supported and implemented campaigns and communication strategies that fought for workers rights’ and their families. While working in the Washington, D.C. area, she managed fundraising efforts for a labor association and worked at a non-profit, as Assistant Director of Consumer Educations, where she effectively managed advocacy programs, including a scholarship program that provided financial support to those who had suffered the loss of a parent or guardian. She also served as a press intern for a distinguished Senator on Capitol Hill. Botty graduated from the State University of New York at Oswego with a political science degree.
Barbara Kelly has been named Impact Coordinator and Board Liaison for the Southwest Florida Community Foundation. A former English Teacher and student mentor with the Lee County School District, Barbara spent more than 10 years as a Course Preceptor for Florida Gulf Coast University and has a passion for education and supporting youth in Southwest Florida. Kelly also brings with her years of experience in the legal field as a real estate and probate paralegal, in addition to her skills in office operations as a former team member of the Lee County Economic Development Office. A resident of Southwest Florida since 1989, Barbara completed her bachelor’s degree with honors at Florida Gulf Coast University and holds a certification as a Salesforce CRM Administrator.
